I'm not sure Niku is ready....defensively for this series but anyone defending Chairot right now is clearly not watching!!!! I am not getting involved in this whole hate on for Rexy in here but I could play better defense in our zone than Myers/Chairot have thus far.

Myers has scored two nice goals, absolutely!! but his defensive and decision making play is horrendous

sorry to hear about Parise, nobody wants to see people hurt and miss games

Myers and Chairot will not be Jets next season. I wouldn’t even be angry about their play if they weren’t costing us games between then and now.

Side note: is there any hate here aside from jetsnation yelling at me to get off his lawn while he ignores everything that doesn’t agree with him? He’s like that cliche super offensive war vet grandpa whom everyone kinda just lets go off on weird tangents about “the good ole days”. You know what he’s saying doesn’t apply to real life anymore, but it’s fun to hear him out.
I rather enjoy it here.

I'm not saying I'm opposed to this but sadly not sure you will get your wish. Chairot is signed for next year so he is not going anywhere and will be our #7 guy once again. Myers will ONLY be traded if Trouba is re signed to a long term deal and I am now leaning to believe unless Chevy gets a great offer for him he will let it go to arbitration and Trouba will be a Jet next season on a one year deal. Trouba does have 2 more RFA years left here before becoming a UFA so Chevy can absolutely wait till next summer to trade, doesn't have to happen this summer. I hope he signs, but can not see it happening, especially now with Morrisey looking he deserves more than Trouba. If the reports of Trouba's agent asking the Jets for over 8 million per are true, he is a s good as gone.

This will be Poolman's 25th NHL game. Hopefully him and Chairot settle in quick and keep it simple.

I will defend Chiarot's physical play. this is a 7 game series and every hit/whack/grind will tilt the balance a little in the Jets favour as series goes deeper. Lowry hasn't been as physical since game one, Buff has been physical but there have been few consistent other significant contributors to physical play on Jets outside of Chiarot.

I think a few guys are playing hurt - Lowry, Trouba, Schiefle and maybe even Morrisey. Just based on how quickly they are bouncing back after physical plays and reduced production.

that is the pot calling the kettle black. Rexy has a little bit of EOGOMS syndrome, (early onset grumpy old man), tending to be oddly stubborn and proud about his corner of hockey knowledge.

I think most on the board agree that teaching, training and mentorship can drastically change a players output on the ice and draw out strengths that are useful to a team, players are not doomed to be the sum of last year's play.

I'd give Morrissey the big contract before Trouba.

Jets lost 20 games during the season, and 1 in the playoffs. Myers and Chiarot are surely not responsible for all 21 losses. YOU WIN AS A TEAM and YOU LOSE AS A TEAM.

Funny that Jets record with Dano in the line-up is 12-9. So Dano plays 1/4 of the season and yet those games he played accounted for almost half of all our losses. Somewhat telling .

Wrong-way Rexy. I don't hate you (Its also hard to hate a guy who makes everyone else laugh ). You unwavering boy-crush on Petan and Dano and previously Postma ,plus complete blind hate for players you don't like even when they play well or add value to the lineup makes your occasional good post completely meaningless. Bias is your achilles heel. I also have no respect for people who never admit they are wrong. Something you need to learn in life if you ever want to get ahead.

Thats right, wear them down over the series, physicality at this time of year is important. Case in point, Parise, Myers, and Perreault earlier. We are fortunate to have the luxury of filling these holes with strong prospects like Roslovic and Poolman.

Go Jets!

Scheifele is looking like a soft Spezza which is NOT GOOD! Has been horrible.
Was hoping to see some battle or fight but nothing. Falling down and losing every battle.
As for the D, play a team game on D and you can insulate and protect some of the lesser talented guys.

I have the results behind me. That’s why I’m stubborn. There’s no democracy in empirical evidence.

As a trust exercise, why don’t you give me some examples of where I’ve been wrong, and I’ll explain either A: why I’m right, or B: where I dun ****ed up.

Also, do not speak I’ll of my man-crushes.

The Penguins have a higher winning percentage without Crosby than they do with him.

Absolutely. Some are random and weird (That Crosby thing, 13-14 Avs, Oshie last year, etc.), some are nonsensically sustained (Grabner’s shooting percentage).
